The Graduate and Faculty Ministry is an ecumenical community of Christian graduate students and faculty at Indiana University, Bloomington. We are a chapter of InterVarsity’s national Graduate and Faculty Ministries, and, as such, we embrace the vision to “be a redeeming influence among the people, ideas, and structures” of the university (the first of InterVarsity’s Core Values).

Our focus is to seek the peace & prosperity of our university and community (Jeremiah 29:4-7); to help one another flourish as students, thinkers, and people of faith; and to be a place of fellowship and support for all believers. We affirm the goodness of scholarly inquiry, critical thinking, and teaching, and we celebrate Indiana University’s motto of “Lux et Veritas” (light and truth).

We wholeheartedly  affirm the national Graduate and Faculty Ministries’ Four Commitments: Spiritual Formation, Community, Evangelism and Service, and the Integration of Faith, Learning, and Practice, as well as InterVarsity’s Purpose Statement:

“In response to God’s love, grace and truth: The purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture and God’s purposes in the world.”
